About us
Our Vision
"To create new paths in learning, doing and serving"
What we offer
Service
Tiger Kloof School prioritizes community service. In 2014, they began "The Hem of His Garment" in Huhudi, where students serve meals to children and provide basic education. This initiative, which includes a new recycling program, helps develop leaders who are committed to serving their communities. In recognition of this work, the school won the Mail & Guardian 'Drivers of Change' award in 2013.
Environment
Tiger Kloof is a 1200-hectare farm with a cattle herd, chicken farm, vegetable garden, and a new pig operation. The farm teaches students about sustainable, chemical-free farming and land preservation. They also host junior land camps to teach other students about farming and the environment.
Adventure Plus (TKA+)
In 2015, Tiger Kloof opened Adventure Plus (TKA+), an outdoor training center. It provides activities like mountain biking, raft building, and an assault course to develop student leadership and teamwork skills beyond the classroom. The center also hosts groups from other schools, churches, and businesses, giving students more opportunities to gain new skills.
Mission
To provide educational opportunities for the previously disadvantaged communities in the region. (This does not imply exclusivity)

To foster in our learners:

-
A religious discipline and adherence to Christian values
-
A commitment to serve society
-
An awareness of the environment
-
The need to be productive, responsible, accountable and enterprising

History of Tigerkloof
Founded in 1904 by the London Missionary Society, Tiger Kloof has a rich legacy of purpose-driven education. Although the original mission school was closed during apartheid following the introduction of the Bantu Education Act, it was proudly re-established in 1995 after South Africa’s democratic transition. Today, Tiger Kloof stands as a beacon of hope and excellence, committed to serving the educational needs of surrounding communities and promoting nation-building.

Located near Vryburg in the North West Province, Tiger Kloof is a registered NPO and a BBEEE Level 1 compliant institution. It offers comprehensive education from Grade RRR to Grade 12, boarding facilities and bursary support. Rooted in Christian values and inclusive in ethos, Tiger Kloof empowers learners through academic excellence, practical skills, and community service, remaining true to its founding mission while evolving to meet modern challenges.
What we do
Christian Foundation
Tiger Kloof is a non-denominational Christian school. This faith is still very central to the ethos of the school, with regular services and smaller group meetings. Children are encouraged to deepen their faith, as well as expressing it practically in service work. In many of the local communities our children experience physical abuse, violence, drugs and poverty. Tiger Kloof can be a passport out of poverty, as well as instilling in them values of service and discipline, rooted in the same Christian faith brought by the missionaries more than a century ago.

The spiritual foundations of Tiger Kloof have always encouraged its students to go deeper in order to build taller. Any cynicism about South Africa’s future will be blown away by a visit to Tiger Kloof. Considering the challenges that many of our students have had to face, they are remarkable. Here they find a sense of purpose and direction and an extraordinary heart for serving the disadvantaged of their own communities, even among those who themselves have very little. This school, which once produced national leaders, is hoping again to produce leaders of the future with a deep sense of integrity and a determination to make a difference.

Our International Programme
Tiger Kloof is a member of Round Square, a prestigious international network of schools. This organization promotes values such as internationalism, leadership, and service, and its membership provides many opportunities for students. These include student exchange programs and hosting visiting groups from around the world. Since 2012, Tiger Kloof has welcomed visitors from the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, India, and more.

The school also opened Tiger Kloof Adventure Plus (TKA+) in 2015, an outdoor training center with activities like mountain biking, raft building, and an assault course. This center is used to help students develop their leadership and teamwork skills outside of the classroom. Additionally, it hosts groups from other schools, churches, and businesses, giving Tiger Kloof students a chance to practice new skills by hosting these groups.
